Cardi B reportedly “pulled away” from “tensions” amid her on-and-off romance with Stefon Diggs.
After the rapper and the NFL star made public appearances together, rumors of their reconciliation have been swirling, as Cardi and Stefon seemed distant back in February.
Now, a source has told People that Cardi felt Stefon was keeping secrets “behind her back,” so she distanced herself at the time. She was too emotionally drained to fight about it.
The insider stated, “Cardi pulled away from the drama in February.”
”She didn’t trust him and felt like things were going on behind her back. She wasn’t in a place emotionally to deal with fighting and tension.”
As Cardi was also busy with the Little Miss Drama Tour, she wanted “to just finish” it and “have stability for her kids.”
The tattler further shared that the WAP rapper “never closed the door completely” on Stefon because she “still cares about him a lot.”
And, the NFL player “stepped it up a few weeks ago and showed her that he wants to make it work.”
For Stefon, the source added, “It was enough of an effort to get her attention.”
It is pertinent to mention that Cardi and Stefon began dating back in May 2025 and welcomed a son together in November of the same year.
Their split rumor became obvious during the 2026 Super Bowl in February.
Cardi B is also a mom to three kids, whom she welcomed with estranged husband, Offset. The pair is still legally married as they have not finalized their divorce.
