Two people tragically died in Essex, England after their light aircraft crashed into a field.
As reported the police informed, two-seat Cessna plane came down off Mill Lane in High Ongar, Essex, at about 12:30 BST on Tuesday.
Police cordoned off the large field, which was surrounded by areas of woodland and further fields.
The small plane took off from North Weald Airfield, expecting to make a short journey, Essex Police has confirmed.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) described it as an “accident” and said its inspectors’ inquiries were ongoing.
Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin said, it had set off from North Weald Airfield on “what was expected to be a short journey.”
“The two-seat Cessna aircraft was carrying out a short flying experience flight but, sadly, it did not return,” said Cronin.
At a press conference in High Ongar, Cronin said the victims were yet to be formally identified.
“This is likely to be a complex process and one we will approach sensitively and compassionately,” he told reporters.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched a formal investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
Police inquiries continued throughout Tuesday night and investigators remained at the scene on Wednesday.
The detectives and forensic teams are also present at the scene of the fatal crash.
