Chris Hardwick is celebrating a major milestone with The Wall.
The longtime host admitted that he never expected the NBC game show would reach 100 episodes.
Ahead of the milestone episode, Chris told People Magazine that reaching the number almost felt impossible to predict.
“I don’t think anyone ever predicts that,” the television personality remarked.
“Just being a lifelong television nerd, even when I was a kid I knew that 100 episodes was like, ‘Oh my God, they made it,’ you know?” Chris added.
Reflecting on NBC’s prime-time game show’s notable achievement, the TV host said, “For us to have been able to do this for this many years and get to 100 episodes and give away … somewhere like over $35 million is pretty mind-blowin.”
Adding, “But you never think that when you’re minute one, episode 1, season 1.”
Despite the show’s remarkable milestone, he stated, “I think we as performers are always conditioned to never think that because it just feels like, oh, that’s bad luck.”
Noting, “You can’t assume that— I mean, I knew right away that the show felt very special to me, but you just never know if people are going to watch or what’s going to happen. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to do the show this long.”
Chris further described the Game show as a “roller coaster” and opened up about its emotional aspect: “What I feel is a roller coaster, like a mosaic of emotions,” he says. “And every one, to me, feels a little bit different. No two episodes feel exactly the same.”
“I remember all of it because it’s an emotional game show.”
“When I was growing up, we didn’t have emotional game shows. It’s just really interesting to me to see how much heart came out of this game show,” he concluded.
It is pertinent to mention that the Wall game show first aired in 2016, and now it has reached its 100th episode.
