Troye Sivan launches new era with ‘She’s the Best’, featuring Nicole Kidman in club-set music video
The new single is also the title track of Sivan’s fourth studio album, which is scheduled for release on October 9
Troye Sivan has launched a new era with his single “She’s the Best” and a music video featuring Nicole Kidman.
Directed by Gordon Von Steiner, the video takes place in a club filled with drag queens, including Sasha Colby.
Kidman watches Sivan perform the track while sipping a drink before joining the singer, who appears in drag towards the end of the video.
Von Steiner has previously worked with Sivan on the music videos for “Rush”, “Got Me Started” and “One of Your Girls”.
The three songs appeared on Sivan’s 2023 album Something to Give Each Other.
The new single is also the title track of Sivan’s fourth studio album, which is scheduled for release on October 9.
The song was written by Sivan with George Daniel, Jack Antonoff, Leland and Kaeyln Behr. Production comes from Sivan, Daniel, Antonoff and Styalz Fuego.
Speaking about the album in a statement, Sivan said: “‘She’s the Best’ is a painting that captures my life in all of its moods and colours,”
He added: “It explores the high-octane highs of the last few years, and the solitude and longing that sat underneath. It’s chaotic, layered, organic, troubled and alive. It feels like the truest and most creative version of myself I’ve ever shared.”
Sivan also described the feminine presence in his life as a source of stability, saying, “Thank god for them.”
