Field Marshal Asim visits Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters in Iran

TEHRAN: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is currently on an official visit to Iran, where important meetings are underway, according to Iranian media reports.

COAS Asim Munir arrived at the of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, where he was received by Commander Lieutenant General Abdollahi, who welcomed the Pakistani military chief upon arrival.

During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a meeting with Lieutenant General Abdollahi, where matters of mutual interest were discussed between the two sides, Iranian media reported.

Prior to the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir held discussions in Tehran with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, where key regional issues were reviewed and exchanged.

The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest and the evolving regional situation, according to sources.

It is worth noting that Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Tehran, the capital of Iran, a day earlier.

His visit is aimed at discussing regional stability, including ongoing US–Iran negotiations and efforts to address obstacles in achieving a lasting ceasefire, according to diplomatic sources.

Earlier, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir along with the delegation arrives at Tehran as part of the ongoing mediation efforts.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also accompanying the Field Marshal Asim Munir during the visit.

The Pakistani delegation was warmly received by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during its visit to Iran.

The visiting delegation will hold discussions on the ongoing diplomatic process between Iran and the United States, as well as the potential second phase of negotiations.
