Travis Kelce says he always enjoys bringing fiancée Taylor Swift to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
The Kansas City Chiefs star recently visited Cleveland with Swift to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers play against the New York Knicks.
Looking back during a recent podcast New Heights, which he hosts with brother Jason Kelce, Travis said he loves showing Swift where he grew up.
“Getting Tay back to Cleveland and showing her my roots is always something I love doing,” Travis said during the Wednesday, May 27 episode.
Jason later asked whether he had shown Swift their old neighborhood, Cleveland Heights.
Travis joked that of course he had shown her “the Heights,” but admitted they did not have enough time during this trip because they were mainly there for the basketball game.
“Not this time, not this time. We came in strictly for the game this time,” he said.
The NFL player also said returning to Cleveland is always important to him because he grew up supporting the city’s sports teams. “We’re diehard Cleveland sports lovers,” he added.
Travis also denied rumours that he was trying to turn Swift into a Cleveland sports supporter. “This was me just having a fun date night, knowing that I love going to basketball games”.
Travis also looked back on having attended tennis matches, baseball games and other sporting events together.
“I love bringing her into the sports world that I appreciate,” Travis explained. “That’s why you’ve seen us at US Open tennis matches. I’ve had her at other baseball games… I just enjoy bringing her to experience a lot of the fun that I’ve always had.”
The athlete also responded to online jokes claiming he appeared to be asleep during the Cavaliers game. Travis explained that he was not sleeping but was frustrated because Cleveland was losing.
“The Knicks f****** couldn’t miss a goddamn shot in the fourth quarter,” Travis complained. “I just wanted them to get going.”
