‘Today’ hosts Jenna Bush Hager, Sheinelle Jones ‘differences’ deepen the divide
Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones sparked rift claims.
According to Radar Online, The Today Show is in turmoil as there is said to be friction between the co-hosts, Sheinelle and Jenna.
Moreover, their clash came recently into the spotlight when Sheinelle appeared to be giving insights into an off-camera meeting before Jenna instantly shut her down, saying, “and we’re not saying that. Remember? I got a text that said, ‘Don’t say that.'”
Reflecting on the fourth hour co-hosts’ creative differences, an insider revealed to the outlet that “The fundamental difference is simple: Jenna sees the show as entertainment. She wants big celebrities, authors, travel, fun experiences and the kind of warm, personality-driven television that makes viewers feel like they are sitting in the room with her.”
While, “Sheinelle is a journalist. She wants to break news, ask tougher questions and bring more reporting into the hour.”
A source claimed that Sheinelle struggles to make her position in the show, stating, “Sheinelle has had to fight for every seat at the table.” On the other hand, “Jenna was born at the table.”
Adding to the claims, a TV executive showed concern, saying that Sheinelle could be at a major disadvantage, “If producers have to pick a side, they will pick Jenna because she is best friends with Savannah Guthrie and Savannah is the boss of NBC News.”
“That would mean Sheinelle is moved, reassigned and ultimately pushed out,” he further added.
It is pertinent to mention that Jenna Bush Hager joined The Today show in 2019, while Sheinelle Jones came on board in 2014.
