Fans get an early look at the next stage of Aang’s journey as conflict spreads across the Earth Kingdom

Netflix has released the first trailer for season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, offering viewers an early look at the next stage of Aang’s journey as conflict spreads across the Earth Kingdom.

According to promotional material released on May 21, the upcoming season will continue following the events at the Northern Water Tribe, with Aang and his allies travelling towards Ba Sing Se in an effort to gain support against Fire Lord Ozai and the Fire Nation.

The trailer features large-scale battle sequences, elemental combat and growing tensions between the four nations as the war intensifies. Several scenes highlight Aang’s continued training to master Water, Earth, Fire and Air in order to restore balance to the world.

The official synopsis states that Aang and his companions are attempting to convince the Earth King to join their fight against the Fire Nation’s army.

Returning cast members include Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Other returning actors include Elizabeth Yu as Azula, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

The live-action adaptation is based on Nickelodeon’s award-winning animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The original programme aired for three seasons and became one of Nickelodeon’s most recognised animated franchises.

Avatar: The Last Airbender season two is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on June 25, 2026.
