Snooki announces she is cancer-free after cervical cancer diagnosis

Snooki revealed that she had undergone several procedures, including a colposcopy, conization and a hysterectomy

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has announced that she is cancer-free after being diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer earlier this year.

The Jersey Shore star shared the news on Saturday, September 19, revealing that she had undergone several procedures, including a colposcopy, conization and a hysterectomy in July.

“After a colposcopy, conization & hysterectomy, mawma is cancer free,” Polizzi wrote on Instagram. She thanked the doctors who treated her and urged women to stay on top of their health appointments and Pap smears.

Polizzi first revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis in February. In July, she shared an update from the hospital after undergoing a hysterectomy, explaining that the procedure involved removing her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and some surrounding tissue. Her ovaries were left in place.

Following the surgery, Polizzi was candid about the difficult recovery, admitting that she was struggling with pain while trying to remain optimistic.

The reality star has now said she will continue having Pap smears every three months to monitor her health and check that the cancer does not return. Her latest update was met with messages of support from her Jersey Shore castmates, including Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

Polizzi has also spoken about delaying routine Pap smears before her diagnosis and has repeatedly encouraged her followers to keep up with recommended screenings.
