
Global music star Shakira is preparing to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Less than a day before the event, she shared a video on her Instagram stories featuring a preview of her song “Dai-Dai”. The Colombian singer will perform the track alongside Burna Boy at Mexico City Stadium on June 11.
Shakira shared a lyric from the song and expressed her excitement for the tournament. She also reminded fans that the World Cup would officially begin on June 11.
The singer used both English and Spanish to celebrate the countdown to one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
This will be Shakira fourth World Cup performance. She previously appeared at the tournament in 2006, 2010, and 2014. Over the years, she has become one of the most recognized artists linked to the FIFA World Cup.
Her hit song “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, released for the 2010 World Cup, remains one of the most popular football anthems ever created.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The tournament will feature three separate opening ceremonies across the host nations, making it one of the biggest World Cups in history.
Shakira busy schedule does not end with the World Cup. Just two days after her performance, she will begin her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” album world tour. Fans around the world are eagerly waiting to see her return to both the football stage and the concert stage.
