Rob Reiner and Betty Gilpin win 2026 Emmys for comedy guest acting

Rob Reiner and Betty Gilpin have won the 2026 Emmy Awards for guest actor and guest actress in a comedy series at the Creative Arts Emmys.
Reiner received the award for his role in The Bear, earning the honour posthumously. Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, were found murdered at their Los Angeles home last December.
Their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged and pleaded not guilty to the murders.
Presenter Wendi McLendon-Covey addressed Reiner’s absence while announcing his win. “It’s appropriate to stand for this one,” she said to the audience, which responded with a standing ovation. “I know we all wish Rob could be here tonight.”
Gilpin won the Emmy for guest actress in a comedy series for her role in Apple’s Widow’s Bay.
Her acceptance speech was delivered in poem form and included a mention of her date, former Glow co-star Alison Brie.
The Creative Arts Emmys are held across two days ahead of the main Primetime Emmy Awards.
This year, five categories that were previously presented during the Primetime ceremony were included in the Creative Arts event.
The awards from Saturday and Sunday will air together on September 12.
The 78th Emmy Awards, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will be broadcast live on NBC on September 14.
