KARACHI: South African batter Rilee Rossouw has achieved a major milestone in the Pakistan Super League(PSL).
On Wednesday in Karachi, during the 23rd match of PSL 11, Rossouw featured for Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi, marking his 100th appearance in the tournament.
With this feat, he became the first foreign cricketer to complete 100 matches in PSL history.
The 36-year-old has been part of the league for ten consecutive seasons, representing Multan Sultans for four seasons and Quetta Gladiators for six.
So far, Rossouw has scored 2,366 runs in 99 matches, including three centuries and 11 half-centuries, further cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most consistent overseas performers.
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had imposed a two-year ban on Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani for withdrawing from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to the PCB, Muzarabani violated his contractual obligations after signing with the PSL but subsequently opting to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The board emphasized that professional cricket is built on trust and the sanctity of agreements. It stated that participation in franchise leagues requires transparency, consistency, and adherence to commitments.
The PCB further noted that the decision to impose the ban was necessary to protect the professional integrity of the PSL.
It underscored the importance of honoring contracts, adding that the conduct of players and their agents must align with the standards and reputation of the tournament.
