DERA MURAD JAMALI: A Pakistan Railways worker lost his life in a bomb blast near a railway crossing in Dera Murad Jamali, located in Balochistan’s Nasirabad district.

The explosion took place near the Pat Feeder Canal Bridge, just moments after the pilot engine of the Jaffar Express had passed. Luckily, both the train and its pilot engine escaped damage, preventing a major tragedy. However, the blast destroyed a section of the railway track and killed the railway worker on duty.

Police said the attackers were likely trying to target the Jaffar Express. After the incident, the train was stopped at Dera Allah Yar railway station in Jaffarabad, while other trains were also halted at nearby stations as a safety measure.

The victim was identified as Imdad Hussain Khokhar, who was inspecting the tracks when the explosion occurred. CCTV footage reportedly shows him checking a suspicious object moments before the blast.

Security forces quickly reached the site and cordoned off the area. SSP Ghulam Sarwar said that an investigation has been launched, and law enforcement agencies are examining all aspects of the attack.
