During the literary festival held at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, the 79-year-old queen emphasized the importance of unity.

This appeal was made in light of the unusual public reaction received by Buckingham Palace following the release of the Earl’s new memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.

In the book, Earle has made a series of allegations regarding King Charles’s relationship with his late sister Diana.

She doesn’t believe anything is gained by continually reopening old wounds or allowing deeply personal disagreements about the past to develop into an increasingly hostile public battle.”

“Camilla’s focus is very much on unity and finding a way forward,” a tipster added. “There is a feeling that constantly returning to the battles of the past risks trapping everybody in events that happened decades ago, when the priority should be preventing those old divisions from causing fresh damage in the present.”
