Punjab Cabinet approved decision to provide laptops to AJK government.
The Punjab government has approved the provision of 5,000 laptops to students studying at public-sector educational institutions across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The initiative aims to improve access to modern technology and digital learning.
The Punjab Cabinet approved the decision to provide the laptops to the AJK government. Under the scheme, students enrolled in public-sector colleges and universities across AJK will also benefit from the program.
The authorities will distribute the 5,000 laptops on merit. Students’ academic performance, the number of students enrolled at each institution and the institutions’ technological needs will be considered when determining how the laptops are allocated.
For this purpose, the relevant educational institutions will provide student data to the AJK government. Officials will use this information to develop a distribution formula based on student enrollment, academic performance and the needs of each institution.
Following the Punjab Cabinet’s approval, the Punjab and AJK governments will finalize the process for delivering and distributing the laptops. The mechanism will determine how many laptops each educational institution will receive and which students will qualify for the merit-based scheme.
The initiative aims to help students in AJK’s public-sector educational institutions gain better access to modern technology and online learning resources. The laptop scheme is also expected to support students in their studies by providing them with greater access to digital educational opportunities.
