LONDON: Prince Harry is reportedly seeking to repair his strained relationship with Britain’s royal family, with plans centered on improving ties with his brother, Prince William, and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
According to media reports citing an unnamed source close to the Duke of Sussex, Harry has encouraged his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to reach out to Catherine in an effort to ease years of tensions between the two couples.
The report said Harry believes Catherine could play a key role in helping restore relations within the family and hopes reconciliation would allow his children to spend more time with King Charles III, Prince William and their royal cousins.
Relations between Harry and William have remained strained since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and later made a series of public allegations about their treatment within the royal family.
Media reports have also described a long-running rift between Meghan and Catherine dating back to Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding.
The unnamed source claimed Harry wants to move beyond years of family conflict and sees a gesture of goodwill from Meghan toward Catherine as a possible first step. The source also said Meghan believes a public reconciliation could help improve her public image.
