PM Shehbaz to hold high-level meetings in Gilgit-Baltistan today

Prime Minister to meet Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Yar Muhammad during key consultations on regional affairs

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to undertake a one-day official visit to Gilgit-Baltistan today where he will meet the region’s top leadership to discuss administrative affairs, governance priorities, and ongoing development work, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the visit the Prime Minister will hold separate meetings with Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Yar Muhammad. These consultations will focus on public service delivery, regional planning, and the status of key infrastructure projects.

He will be accompanied by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister Amir Muqam, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah. The delegation will attend briefings on policy implementation and intergovernmental coordination.

Officials said the Prime Minister will be briefed on ongoing projects and administrative bottlenecks affecting development progress in the region.

The visit is part of the federal government’s broader engagement strategy aimed at improving governance efficiency and ensuring timely completion of development initiatives in Gilgit-Baltistan.
