
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to ensure the timely completion of all nationally significant development projects.
He emphasised that efficient implementation and high-quality execution are essential to promote public welfare, create employment opportunities and support sustainable economic growth.
The directives were issued during a meeting with Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, who briefed the prime minister on the progress of ongoing development projects and initiatives being implemented under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

During the meeting, Ahsan Iqbal presented a detailed update on the implementation status of ongoing projects and informed the prime minister about the government’s future development plans and priorities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the timely completion of development projects remains one of the government’s top priorities, stressing that projects of national importance should be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
He also directed all relevant ministries, departments and implementing agencies to enhance coordination and accelerate the pace of work to ensure that the public benefits from development initiatives at the earliest opportunity.
The meeting reviewed the progress of key national development projects and discussed future priorities, implementation strategies and development targets aimed at supporting Pakistan’s long-term economic and social development.
