PinkPantheress to make feature film acting debut in Daniels’ upcoming Universal project

British singer, songwriter and producer PinkPantheress is set to make her feature film acting debut after joining the cast of the Daniels’ upcoming project for Universal Pictures.
According to Deadline, the artist, whose real name is Victoria Walker, has been cast in the untitled film directed by Academy Award-winning filmmakers Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as the Daniels. Plot details remain under wraps.
PinkPantheress joins a cast that already includes Matt Damon, Sandra Oh, Charles Melton, Sean Kaufman, Silvia Dionicio, Jackson Kelly, Kerrice Brooks, Thalia Dudek and Michael Gandolfini.
The project is being produced by the Daniels and Jonathan Wang through their company Playgrounds under its overall agreement with Universal.
PinkPantheress rose to prominence in 2021 after sharing her blend of R&B, alternative pop and UK garage-inspired music on TikTok and SoundCloud.
She quickly gained recognition for her short-form songwriting, introspective lyrics and use of samples from 1990s and early 2000s music. Her eight-track album Fancy That runs for approximately 20 minutes, reflecting her distinctive approach to music production.
The 25-year-old received two Grammy Award nominations this year for “Illegal” and Fancy That. She also became the first woman and youngest recipient of the BRIT Award for Producer of the Year.
Her recent achievements include being named Variety’s Young Hollywood Music Innovator of the Year in 2025, earning a place on the 2025 Mercury Prize shortlist and securing her first number one on the Billboard Global 200 with “Stateside + Zara Larsson”.
The Daniels’ untitled film is scheduled for release in cinemas on November 19, 2027.
