PCB confirms prize money for PSL 11

For the first time in the league’s history, franchises will receive separate prize money.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the prize structure for franchises before Sunday’s 2026 Pakistan Super League final between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen.

For the first time in the league’s history, franchises will receive separate prize money. Under this new system, the winning franchise will get $500,000, while the runner-up will receive $300,000.

The PCB has also allocated $200,000 for the franchise with the best player development program. In addition, players from the winning team will share another $500,000 prize pool.

This brings the total prize money related to the final and franchise awards to $1.5 million.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said the new reward system is part of its wider plan to strengthen the Pakistan Super League and give franchises more financial motivation beyond just winning matches. The idea was first introduced last year by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

For the upcoming match, Peshawar Zalmi will be looking to win the title as they reach the final for the first time in four years.

On the other hand, Hyderabad Kingsmen have been the surprise team of the tournament. After finishing fourth in the league stage, they defeated Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in back-to-back eliminator matches to reach the final in their first season.

The two sides have already faced each other once this season, where Zalmi won a close match on the last ball by four wickets.
