
KARACHI: Pakistan’s services sector delivered a standout performance in the fiscal year 2025-26, with exports climbing to an all-time high of $10.0 billion, underscoring the sector’s growing importance to the country’s external trade profile.
The full-year figure caps a sustained upward trend that gathered pace as the fiscal year progressed. Momentum was particularly strong in the final month, with June 2026 services exports reaching $931 million, the highest monthly tally recorded in 11 years.
The steady climb in services exports comes as Pakistan looks to diversify its export base beyond traditional goods such as textiles, positioning IT, business process outsourcing, and other knowledge-based services as an increasingly vital pillar of foreign exchange earnings.

Analysts note that the sector’s expanding share of the export mix reflects both rising global demand for Pakistani tech and services talent and continued efforts by local firms to tap into international markets.
With monthly exports touching multi-year highs, the trajectory suggests services could play an even larger role in Pakistan’s trade balance in the years ahead.
