Pakistan won two gold medals at the 2026 World Ju-Jitsu Championship at Mubadala Arena, where Abu Huraira and Muhammad Ammar made history by winning the Masters Duo and Duo Show events.
The championship, which runs through Aug. 9, has brought together more than 1,500 athletes from around the world competing in the under-16, under-18, under-21 and adult divisions.
Former Asian champions Abu Huraira and Muhammad Ammar won gold medals in both the Masters Duo and Duo Show events, creating history for Pakistan.
This marked Pakistan’s first participation in the Masters category at the World Ju-Jitsu Championship, making the achievement even more significant.
Pakistan also added another medal as young athletes Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Umar won bronze in the Under-21 Duo event after an impressive performance that showcased their skill, teamwork and determination.
The pair will compete again Tuesday in the Duo Show event, where they will once again represent Pakistan. The country is hoping for another strong performance and more success.
Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation Chairman Khalil Ahmed Khan congratulated the athletes and praised their hard work and dedication.
“These victories are a proud moment for Pakistan and an inspiration for the next generation,” he said.
Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation Secretary General Tariq Ali also praised the athletes for their achievements.
“These historic achievements reflect the hard work, dedication and growing strength of Pakistan’s Ju-Jitsu athletes on the international stage,” he said.
The Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation also congratulated Abu Huraira, Muhammad Ammar, Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Umar on their outstanding performances and wished the national team continued success in the remaining events of the championship.
