Anne Hathaway’s ‘Verity’ is projected to fall to second place in its second weekend
Jessica Chastain’s horror thriller Other Mommy is projected to lead Jeremy Strong’s The Social Reckoning at the North American box office this weekend, according to Deadline’s projection.
Deadline forecasts Other Mommy will open with $20 million from 3,200 theatres, while The Social Reckoning is expected to debut with $8 million across 2,200 locations.

Directed by Rob Savage, Other Mommy stars Chastain as Ursula and her doppelganger, who terrorises her eight-year-old daughter, Bela, played by Arabella Olivia Clark.
The film also features Jay Duplass, Karen Allen and Dichen Lachman.
Meanwhile, The Social Reckoning arrives 16 years after The Social Network. Strong plays Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, with Mikey Madison portraying former Facebook engineer Frances Haugen.
Jeremy Allen White also stars, while Aaron Sorkin wrote and directed the film.
Anne Hathaway’s Verity is projected to fall to second place in its second weekend, with Deadline forecasting $12 million after opening with $32 million domestically.
Also arriving this weekend, Angel and the Badman will open in 2,000 North American locations, while Fathom Entertainment is screening Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth in more than 1,000 venues to mark its 20th anniversary.
