QUETTA: An intelligence tip about a planned terrorist attack led security forces to a group of militants in Panjgur, where five terrorists were killed and several others wounded during an operation, security sources said.
The intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Kale Suran area of Panjgur after security forces received information that militants were traveling on motorcycles and allegedly planning to carry out a major terrorist activity.
The operation was carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 as part of ongoing security efforts against what authorities refer to as Fitna al-Hindustan in Balochistan.
Security forces used advanced technology and weapons to target the militants during the operation. Several terrorists were killed and others wounded in the action, while a large quantity of modern weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site, according to security sources.

Three vehicles and two motorcycles were also recovered following the operation. Security personnel additionally seized an improvised explosive device (IED) and a flag belonging to a banned organization.
According to security sources, the militants killed in the operation were allegedly involved in a range of criminal and terrorist activities targeting local residents. These included looting, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and targeted killings.
The militants were also allegedly involved in planning suicide attacks, the sources said, highlighting the potential threat posed by the group in the area.
The latest operation comes as security forces continue intelligence-based operations across Balochistan to disrupt militant networks, prevent planned attacks and recover weapons and explosives before they can be used.
Security forces have reiterated their determination to eliminate terrorist threats from the province and said operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
