‘Off Campus’ star Belmont Cameli discusses rumours amid Ella Bright feud speculation
In a new interview, Cameli discussed the scrutiny that has followed the Prime Video series and its growing fanbase
Off Campus star Belmont Cameli has addressed false online rumours about his relationship with co-star Ella Bright, saying he has learned to deal with increased attention surrounding his personal life.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, September 10, Cameli, 28, discussed the scrutiny that has followed the Prime Video series and its growing fanbase.
“Being an actor, everybody has something to say about your performance, but then they also have everything to say about what’s happening in your personal life, too,” Cameli said.
The actor described the attention as “all new and kind of strange”, while acknowledging the intensity of online fandom surrounding the series.
“Sometimes there’s a real venom to the way people put you under microscopes. You feel constantly observed,” he said.
Cameli said he remains confident in his own reality despite speculation about his personal relationships.
“You can say whatever you want about me or people in my life, but it’s not going to affect me because I’m fully aware of what my reality looks like and feels like,” he said.
Rumours of a disagreement between Cameli and Bright, 19, circulated online during production of the second season.
Fans had also noticed that Cameli appeared to remove or archive Instagram posts featuring Bright.
However, Cameli previously described Bright as a close friend, telling Us Weekly in May, “Ella and I are really, really good friends. We get along so well and we spend a ton of time together on set.”
Bright similarly praised their working relationship, saying, “Honestly, we just have so much fun.”
The pair recently appeared together in a Prime Video clip confirming that filming for Season 2 is underway.
