Netflix Announces Sesame Street movie, Gabby’s Dollhouse spinoff and KPop Demon Hunters game
The upcoming Sesame Street movie will be released on Netflix as part of the platform’s expanded partnership
Netflix is expanding its kids and family entertainment slate with a new Sesame Street movie, a Gabby’s Dollhouse spinoff and a new game based on KPop Demon Hunters.
The announcements come as Netflix continues to invest in children’s programming, which accounted for 15% of the streaming platform’s viewership during the first half of 2026. The company is now looking to build on that audience with several new projects spanning film, television and gaming.
The upcoming Sesame Street movie will be released on Netflix as part of the platform’s expanded partnership with Sesame Workshop. The project is expected to bring the long-running children’s franchise to a new generation of viewers while giving Netflix another major family title.
Alongside the movie, Netflix has announced a new spinoff from Gabby’s Dollhouse. The animated franchise has become one of the streamer’s established children’s properties, and the new project will expand its world with another series aimed at younger audiences.
Netflix is also developing a new game based on KPop Demon Hunters, following the enormous success of the animated musical. The game will give fans another way to interact with the world of Huntr/x and its characters beyond the original film and its music.
KPop Demon Hunters has become one of Netflix’s biggest entertainment properties since its release, with the film generating a substantial global fanbase and its soundtrack becoming a major success. Netflix has already expanded the franchise into merchandise, live experiences and a planned sequel.
The game announcement adds another element to Netflix’s strategy of turning successful shows and films into broader entertainment franchises. The company has increasingly explored gaming as a way for subscribers to engage with its intellectual property beyond traditional streaming.
The move also comes as Netflix continues developing its broader KPop Demon Hunters franchise. A sequel has already been confirmed by Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans returning for the follow-up.
The latest announcements demonstrate Netflix’s continued focus on family entertainment while also extending some of its most successful properties into new formats. With Sesame Street, Gabby’s Dollhouse and KPop Demon Hunters all receiving new projects, the streamer is building a wider slate designed to appeal to children and families across multiple forms of entertainment.
