Muse singer Matt Bellamy takes legal step to end marriage with model wife Elle Evans

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy is officially parting ways with Elle Evans.

As per People magazine, the singer, 48, has filed for divorce from the model wife, 36, after seven years of marriage.

Matt filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as his reason for the split.

He also requested sole custody of his and Elle’s two children – daughter Lovella, 6, and son George, 2.

In a statement given to TMZ on Wednesday, Evans said she intends to fight a legal battle to gain custody of the children she shares with Matt.

For those unversed, the British singer announced his separation from Elle in June 2026 during an interview with The i Paper.

“Because it’s one of those situations that involves something that people wouldn’t normally think it is,” Matt said at that time. “It was a set of really unexpected circumstances.”

“It’s the kind of thing no one really prepares for in life,” added the Pray crooner. “It threw me off, and I had to prioritize looking after the kids and creating stability at home.”

It is worth mentioning here that Matt and Elle exchanged vows on August 10, 2019, after four years of dating.
