
Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather for Karachi today while several parts of the country are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
Karachi is expected to remain under humid conditions throughout the day with the minimum temperature recorded at 28°C and humidity levels reaching 78 percent.
The current temperature stands at 30°C but due to high humidity, the feels like temperature may be 5 to 6 degrees higher than the actual reading.
The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 34°C and 36°C. Southwesterly winds are blowing at around 10 kilometers per hour, while the weather is expected to remain clear with no chances of rainfall.
Meanwhile, the PMD has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in several parts of the country, particularly in upper Punjab, upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Potohar region.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are expected to remain cloudy with chances of rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms at isolated locations, while some areas may also experience moderate to heavy rainfall along with hailstorms.
Islamabad and adjoining areas are likely to experience partly cloudy weather with rain and thunderstorms. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day.
Rain is expected in Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Kohistan, Buner, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Swat, Kalam, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Swabi, Charsadda, and Bajaur.
In Punjab, Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, and Hafizabad are likely to receive rain and thunderstorms, while isolated areas may also witness hailstorms.
Sindh and southern Balochistan are expected to remain under intense heat conditions during the day.
