Meghan Markle isn’t moving back to Britain, claim friends: ‘Incredibly difficult’
A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle isn’t moving back to Britain and the Duchess has agreed to spend six months based in the UK.
Royal expert Rob Shuter has claimed this citing the friends of Meghan and Harry after the couple’s return plans were disclosed.
He said Meghan Markle may be willing to return to Britain — but sources tell Naughty But Nice “this is very much a trial, not a permanent move.”
The friends said Meghan has agreed to spend six months based in the UK, while keeping their Montecito home and their vacation property in Portugal.
“She is not giving up either house, making it clear that California still feels like home.”
The royal expert also revealed the bigger problem, saying “Meghan knows almost nobody in Britain outside the royal world, and that isolation could make the transition incredibly difficult again.”
One friend claims, “Meghan is agreeing to try it, but she isn’t moving back to Britain. Six months is the test. She wants an exit strategy.”
Meghan, meanwhile, would be leaving behind her mom Doria, the life and support system she built there.
Friends fear the question eventually becomes unavoidable: where does the family actually belong?
The California-based royal couple plan to move back to Britain this month, six years after they quit royal duties and relocated to the US.
A person close to the couple said they would move from California to somewhere outside London for an extended period with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, who will go to school in Britain.
