Before the spotlight on Lindsay Clancy, a resurfaced video offers a glimpse into the mom-of-three’s previous profession.

That is, being a nurse.

In the 44-second clip, dated over a decade ago, Clancy was heard optimistically sharing her views on ‘couplet care’.

The term refers to a newborn staying with the mom instead of being sent to the nursery.

This approach, the 36-year-old explained, has several benefits for a newborn and a mom’s bond.

Adding her introduction at the beginning, Clancy, who was using her maiden name at the time, said, “I’m Lindsay Musgrove; I’m a new graduate nurse.”

According to her research, she said, “I’m a new graduate nurse, and I recently did a lot of research about couplet care and rooming in, and I found that all of the leading paediatric and osteopathic foundations support this practice.”

Then, in the video, Clancy added, “So there are a lot of benefits for both mother and baby.”

She continued, “For the mother, you can start forming a routine with your baby.”

“You learn to sleep in chunks as your baby naps; you have less anxiety about your baby being out of your sight, so you actually are able to sleep better and deeper than when you send your baby to the nursery.”

“This is a great way to have successful breastfeeding; you’re always there with your baby, and you can learn your baby’s cues and needs, when they need to feed, and when they need diapering,” the mother of three said.

Clancy’s trial, meanwhile, is one of the most discussed murder cases, as the next hearing on the case is Sept. 29.
