Justin Baldoni and wife Emily speak out for the first time since ‘It Ends With Us’ settlement with Blake Lively

Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, have spoken publicly for the first time in nearly two years following the settlement of the legal dispute linked to the 2024 film It Ends with Us.

In a video shared on Instagram, the couple reflected on the impact of the case, saying they are focused on healing and moving forward with their family.

Justin said, “We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say.”

He added, “We are healing. If you’ve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn’t linear.”

Emily said the couple had experienced “a lot of trauma” during the legal battle, adding that their gratitude “doesn’t negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years”. She also said, “The truth and the facts have spoken for themselves.”

The dispute began after Blake Lively filed a lawsuit in December 2024 alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.

Baldoni denied the allegations and later filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloane’s PR firm, alleging defamation and breach of contract. The countersuit was subsequently dismissed.

The parties reached a settlement before the case was due to go to trial in New York. A subsequent court filing stated that Lively dismissed her remaining claims without Wayfarer paying any of the $300 million in damages she had sought.

A judge later ruled that Lively could seek attorneys’ fees related to Baldoni’s countersuit, while any claim for treble or punitive damages would require separate legal action.

Justin said he and Emily had become “closer, more devoted, and steadfast in our faith” and would continue to focus on their family and recovery.
