Jennifer Lopez falls through the cracks: ‘Should I give up on acting?’
Jennifer Lopez’s Hollywood dream is hanging on by a thread and it seems the ‘curse’ is upon her.
For those unversed with what this is in reference to, a new update just dropped, and it offers huge insights into the fears the star faces.
A well-placed source came forward for this reveal, and according to Heat World they’ve been saying that retirement might be a contender, at least where acting is concerned.
As for the reason, she’s been taking a lot of walks down memory lane, and recounting how her last few projects have performed – whether that her self-funded $20 million passion project This Is Me… Now: A Love Story which received the worst feedback to date, or her sci-fi epic Atlas which only has a Rotten Tomato’s rating of 17%. Not even Kiss Of The Spider Woman ended up making it big and thus, source warn “during the summer, she met with family and close friends to discuss what to do with some of the projects she is working on, as well as the impact some of her recent movies and acting roles have had on her career and her confidence in acting.”
They’ve also revealed, “she is going through moments where she is doubting how to bounce back after making so many movies that haven’t worked in the last few years.”
More than anything its said she “is asking herself whether she should give up on acting, as the disappointment and bad reviews have had a major impact on her confidence and her desire to put energy into acting.”
“She knows that people now see her as an actress who features in movies that flop, and that is affecting her mindset negatively. There have been moments when she has wanted to call it quits on acting and focus instead on producing movies or TV projects and her music.” Before signing off she also said, “[J.Lo] also knows that some actors and actresses may be against working with her because she has had many flops in her last few movies.”
