Jamie Lee Curtis is getting honest about her experience of filming the comedy drama New Girl, also starring Zooey Deschanel.

The Freaky Friday star made a guest appearance on the TV show as Zooey’s mom for six episodes, but she is not quite happy about how it went.

Referring to the show, she told Entertainment Tonight at NBCUniversal’s Summer Backlot Experience, “I did a single-camera [show], which I hated.”

The True Lies actress explained, “It’s a good show, but doing it is just like doing a movie. You’ve got a camera crew, and nobody laughs. It’s silent and it’s awful. For me, awful.”

“Single-camera comedies, for me, not fun,” she expressed her disdain with the structure of the show.

For those unversed, the New Girl sitcom ran for seven seasons from 2012 to 2018 on FOX network.

The Oscar winner recently called Anything But Love, a multi-camera sitcom, her “favorite job ever.”

She said during Variety’s “Actors on Actors” interview alongside Mariska Hargitay in June that “it was fantastic.”

“I’d never been in front of a live audience.”

The 68-year-old actress is all set to make a guest appearance on NBC’s Newlyweds, in which she also serves as a writer and producer.
