Emma Roberts has finally revealed why she wasn’t “overly excited” about her wedding day.
The 35-year-old actress, who tied the knot with Cody John last month, said she tried not to get too excited because people had warned her of the potential for “drama.”
“We got married in Sun Valley, Idaho. It was so amazing, it was at his family’s house in the backyard. We put up a tent and had the time of our lives,” Emma said on Sibling Revelry podcast.
“And I mean, I had had, not low expectations, but I didn’t want to get too excited about it,” she continued. “Everyone tries to tell you like, you know, there can be drama and this and that. So I was just going into it like, ‘It is what it is.’
“And it really was one of the best nights of my whole life,” added Emma.
The American Horror Story further shared that she felt like a “teenager” when she exchanged vows.
“What’s so funny is I’m like thinking I’m this like, young bride, I’m like, ‘Oh my god I’m a teenager getting married’ and everyone’s like, ‘You’re 35,'” she said.
Emma added that she and Cody had invited 200 guests to their wedding because they didn’t want to be “too rigid” when it came to the list of invitees.
“We wanted a bunch of people there to celebrate and our parents wanted to invite people. We wanted to invite people,” she explained. “I didn’t want to be that bride that was like rigid with the guest list.”
