RAYE and Michael B. Jordan did not share a kiss at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, despite a viral social media post claiming otherwise.
The image circulating online is AI-generated, while the account that posted the claim is a parody page. There is no evidence that RAYE and Jordan kissed during the awards ceremony.
The claim emerged after the singer and actor were recently seen together at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles.
Fan-recorded photographs and videos showed the pair spending time together, riding roller coasters and talking. One image from the outing was interpreted by some as appearing to show them kissing, fuelling further speculation about their relationship.
RAYE addressed the speculation during an interview with Extra at the 2026 VMAs.
When asked about a project she was working on with Jordan, the singer said she was “technically not allowed to talk about it” because she could get into trouble.
After interviewer Alyssa Killian noted that the secrecy surrounding the project had led some people to assume they were dating, RAYE responded, “No, we’re just friends who like roller coasters.”
Her comment appeared to reference their Six Flags outing while directly addressing the dating rumours.
