
Admiral Naveed Ashraf stresses on acquiring niche, cutting-edge technologies as absolute strategic necessity for Navy
ISLAMABAD:
Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf has emphasized the importance of maintaining perpetual combat readiness to effectively counter both traditional and non-traditional challenges in the maritime domain.
Chairing the Command & Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy at Naval Headquarters, the CNS underscored Pakistan Navy’s pivotal role in ensuring peace, stability and regional maritime security, said a news release issued by Directorate General Public Relations (Navy).
He highlighted that PN is providing assurance to maritime community through its presence in Gulf of Oman.
In the backdrop of ongoing situation in the Middle East, the CNS noted emerging threats in the maritime domain including freedom of navigation, potential disruption to vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) and volatile maritime security situation across strategic choke-points.

The forum also commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict.
The Naval Chief remarked the historic triumph as an enduring testament to national unity and unwavering resolve to defeat any external aggression with iron fist. The forum undertook a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives and upcoming events.
Discussions remained focused on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to chart a clear course for Ops preparedness across multiple domains of naval warfare.
The Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision-making forum of Pakistan Navy where Chief of the Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders deliberate on strategic priorities and policies.
