Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ becomes his highest rated film on Rotten Tomatoes

The score of Nolan’s latest adaptation of Homer’s epic places it ahead of several of his most celebrated films
Christopher Nolan has achieved a new career milestone as The Odyssey has become the highest-rated film of his career on Rotten Tomatoes.
The acclaimed director’s latest adaptation of Homer’s epic currently holds a 95% critics’ score on the review aggregation website, placing it ahead of several of Nolan’s most celebrated films, including The Dark Knight, Memento and Batman Begins, which each hold 94%.
The Odyssey debuted with a 97% rating before settling at 95% as more verified reviews were added. Although the score could still change, the publication noted that its early critical reception suggests it is likely to remain among Nolan’s most highly regarded works.
The film is reportedly projected to earn more than $117 million during its opening weekend in the United States, making it the biggest opening for a live-action film released in 2026.
The film’s current Rotten Tomatoes score places it ahead of The Prestige, which holds 92%, while Inception and the Academy Award-winning Oppenheimer each stand at 91%. The Dark Knight Rises follows with 90%, while Nolan’s debut feature, Following, has an 85% rating.
Nolan’s lowest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes remains Tenet, which currently holds a 76% score despite developing a dedicated following since its 2020 release.
The Odyssey stars Matt Damon alongside an ensemble cast including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal.
