Chadwick Boseman’s widow responds to lawsuit from late actor’s brothers over his estate

Taylor Simone Ledward has responded to a lawsuit filed by Chadwick Boseman’s brothers, who are seeking her removal as administrator of the late actor’s estate.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Kevin and Derrick Boseman have accused Ledward of failing to distribute funds to their family and preventing them from pursuing business opportunities connected to Chadwick’s legacy.
Ledward’s lawyer, Adam Streisand, rejected the claims, calling the lawsuit a “public-relations stunt to smear [her] in the tabloid press.”
“Simone has not only complied with the Order, but as a product solely of her own extraordinary generosity, she has gone well beyond what was required of her,” Streisand said.
He added, “Simone’s generosity has been both financial and collaborative. She has always included the Boseman family in her efforts to ensure Chadwick’s memory would endure and flourish long after her husband’s tragic and untimely death.”
The response also states that Ledward voluntarily gifted more than $300,000 of her own funds to Derrick’s four children.
Her court documents further say she has worked to honour Chadwick’s legacy by establishing the Chadwick Boseman Foundation for the Arts, licensing his play Deep Azure at Shakespeare’s Globe in London and securing a documentary deal.
The documents also revealed details about the couple’s wedding. “Accordingly, they married on Aug. 21, 2020, just six days before Chadwick’s passing. Chadwick’s brother, Derrick, officiated the wedding.”
According to reports, the legal dispute remains ongoing.
