CEO LWMC Surprise Visits to Review Cleaning Arrangements: Issues 24-Hour Ultimatum for Zero Waste on Canal Road Service Lanes

Lahore : In a bid to ensure top-notch sanitation services for the residents of Lahore, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din spearheaded a surprise inspection across various areas of Gulberg Town and Iqbal Town. During the visit, CEO Babar Sahib Din assessed workers’s attendance and cleaning arrangements, directing the operation team to achieve zero-waste status in the service lanes of Canal Road within 24 hours. Additionally, he issued manual working instructions to expedite road scraping processes and enhance the collection of waste from green belts.

According to LWMC spokesperson Umar Chaudhary, CEO Babar Sahib Din inspected various areas, including Liberty Chowk, Gurumangat Road, Noor Jahan Road, and MM Alam Road. Sanitation arrangements were also reviewed at Firdous Market, Medina Colony, Gulbahar Colony, Barkat Market, Jinnah Hospital, Canal Road, and Thokar Niaz Baig. These surprise visits are set to continue across all Lahore towns. Emphasizing the Punjab government’s vision for cleanliness, CEO Babar Sahib Din stressed that negligence in sanitation matters would not be tolerated. He instructed all officers of the operation team to be actively present in the field to ensure optimal cleanliness arrangements, highlighting that providing a clean environment for citizens is a top priority. The LWMC is fully committed to utilizing all resources for the timely provision of sanitation facilities. Citizens were urged to play their part by avoiding littering in streets, neighborhoods, and open plots and instead using dustbins for garbage disposal.
