Cardi B has diversified her investment portfolio for the sake of her children.
The 33-year-old rap star, who has Kulture, eight, Wave, five, and Blossom, two, with Offset, as well as a ten-month-old baby with Stefon Diggs, has explained why she’s tried to diversify her portfolio away from music.
Cardi explained to Entertainment Tonight, “I was panicking. I leave this earth and my kids are going to have just music royalties and they’re mostly going to have to be arguing people about it.”
Before finding success in the music business, the Taki Taki rapper worked as a stripper, but now, she is determined to ensure that her kids never have to worry about money.
She said, “They’re going to have a couple of properties and a couple of liquid money. What is something that, God forbid, something happens to me, I leave behind that is for them? God forbid something happened to me, this is theirs.”
The rap star has already enlisted Kulture, her daughter, for a commercial for Grow Good Beauty, her haircare company.
“It’s funny because when we was doing the commercial,” the WAP hitmaker mentioned, adding, “I kept saying, ‘Don’t make the shoots be so long ’cause then she gets uncomfortable, then she doesn’t want to do it.’ But she was with everything. She was really like, ‘I want this. I want to do this.'”
Cardi B is one of the best-selling artists in the world, but she previously claimed to have been happier before she found fame.
The Bodak Yellow rapper doesn’t have any money worries these days, but she did detail the impact of fame on her life.
Cardi, who released her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, in 2025, told CR Fashion Book magazine, “One positive thing is that, my family, whatever they want, they get. Everything that I want to buy, I can get. I don’t have to worry so much about my future.”
“One negative thing is that, even though I’m happy, I feel like I was a little bit happier two or three years ago when I had less money,” she said.
“I had less people who had opinions about my life. I felt like my life was mine. Now I feel like I don’t even own my life. I feel like the world owns me,” Cardi B stated as she explained how fame has affected her life.
