Cambridge mathematics paper leaked again before exam

KARACHI: The Cambridge Mathematics paper was reportedly leaked once again, as the exam scheduled for May 12 was circulated on social media several hours before the test began.

According to the media reports, when students entered the examination halls, they were surprised to find that the same paper had already been widely shared online.

Officials of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen in Islamabad also confirmed the alleged leakage of the paper.

This is not the first such incident. Earlier, the A-Level Mathematics paper was also leaked on April 29, after which it was announced that the exam would be retaken.

Later, on May 7, it was decided that the rescheduled Mathematics paper would be held on June 9. However, the latest incident has once again raised serious concerns over examination security.

In past examinations, several papers were partially leaked, but this time the complete paper reportedly surfaced before the exam. Cambridge has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui took notice of the alleged leak and expressed serious concern over the matter.

He said that no one should be allowed to play with the future of hardworking students, adding that similar incidents had also occurred in the previous year. He urged Cambridge to further strengthen its examination system.

The minister directed IBCC to immediately hold a meeting with Cambridge and take steps to protect students’ interests.

He emphasized that transparency and merit must not be compromised, and called for a full investigation to restore students’ confidence in the examination system.
