Bricks and Minifigs issues official statement on $200K LEGO dispute

Bricks and Minifigs addresses $200K LEGO dispute as company denies wrongdoing in public statement update

Bricks & Minifigs has issued a new public statement addressing the ongoing dispute involving a LEGO Star Wars collection reportedly valued between $100,000 and $200,000, according to a report by Brick Fanatics.

The controversy centres on claims made by Bryan Mansell, who alleges that a large portion of his family’s collection was not returned after it was placed under a consignment-style arrangement with a former Bricks & Minifigs franchise in Salem, Oregon.

In its statement, the company argued that the agreement was made independently between Mansell and former franchise operator Chrystal Law Gorman without corporate approval. Bricks & Minifigs stated that its franchise rules explicitly prohibit consignment arrangements and described the deal as unauthorised.

According to Brick Fanatics, Bricks & Minifigs CEO Ammon McNeff said the company found only a small amount of inventory potentially connected to the collection after taking over the Salem location. He stated the items, estimated between $2,000 and $5,000 in value, had been set aside and offered back to the family despite the company maintaining it held no legal responsibility for the original arrangement.

The company also disputed online claims regarding the collection’s reported valuation, stating that documentation later provided by the family listed inventory worth closer to $60,000 to $80,000.

McNeff additionally denied allegations of theft or corporate wrongdoing, stating that no court had found Bricks & Minifigs or its leadership guilty of misconduct.

The dispute has gained widespread attention online through videos published by YouTuber Reckless Ben, whose investigation helped bring the controversy to a larger audience. Civil litigation and investigations connected to the matter remain ongoing.
