Apple is expected to announce iOS 27 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 keynote on June 8 introducing a host of new features, artificial intelligence upgrades, and system improvements for compatible iPhones.
A major highlight of the update is a significantly upgraded Siri which may come with a dedicated interface and “Extensions” enabling smoother interaction through both voice and text, offering a more conversational AI-like experience.
Siri is also expected to be more deeply integrated into the Dynamic Island, delivering smarter, context-aware responses by pulling information from apps such as Messages and Mail.
iOS 27 is also tipped to expand Apple’s satellite connectivity, potentially introducing 5G satellite support on select devices. This could allow users to access services like Apple Maps and Messages even in areas without mobile network coverage.
Reports also suggest simplified satellite access, improved connection processes and possible third-party app support without requiring manual sky alignment.
Apple is likely to focus on improving overall performance, stability, and bug fixes, along with subtle interface refinements. These may include a system-wide transparency control and minor visual enhancements across the OS.
Other expected features include a smarter keyboard with improved autocorrect, new Apple Intelligence tools for photo editing, and enhanced Undo/Redo options for Home Screen customization.
iOS 27 is expected to support iPhone 12 and newer models while advanced AI-based features may be limited to premium devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro and later variants.
