‘American Horror Story’ actress wants her daughter to learn other skills before acting

Gabourey Sidibe, known for her role in American Horror Story is mother to twins Cooper and Maya.

In an interview with People Magazine, Sidibe talked about whether she wants her twins to follow in her acting footsteps.

Speaking about her daughter, the actress said she is “a lot like me.”

“I don’t wanna let them know what I do for a long time though. I’m kind of a weirdo. I get into bits,” Sidibe said.

Adding, “The thing is my daughter is a lot like me, … and if she realizes that she can be paid for her personality, she’s not gonna learn another skill. She’s not.”

“She’s gonna be an nepo baby, which would be fine, but I wanna give her a chance to know that there are other jobs in the world,” she noted further.

However, Sidibe explained that her children don’t fully understand her profession. “I’m just Mommy, but also like my kids are 2½ years old. They don’t watch a lot of TV to begin with, and anything they do watch, they’re only interested in like cartoons.”

“Elmo is Beyoncé. Elmo’s the most famous person in our household, and that’s just what it is.”

“One time I did an episode of Doc McStuffins, and I let them watch it, and they did not clock me whatsoever. I’m simply Mommy to them. A humbling experience that I love,” Sidibe added further.
