Lindsay Clancy case update: Will she face a retrial as she returns to court?

Lindsay Clancy and her trial captivated the attention across the spectrum in the United States over whether she is criminally responsible for killing her three children in 2023.

Her previously covered case ended in a mistrial after the jury, appointed to reach a decision, could not do so despite multiple attempts.

Now, Lindsay is set to reappear in court on Nov. 2. However, the key question is whether the prosecution pursues a retrial or the defence team manages to dismiss the case.

On the other hand, her ex-husband Patrick has filed a separate lawsuit against the medical professionals who treated his former wife.

According to him, the doctors, as well as nurse practitioners and healthcare groups involved in Lindsay’s treatment, failed to treat her mental health conditions fully.

The lawsuit includes allegations that medical providers did not properly monitor Lindsay’s mental health condition, appointments were not conducted in person but through video calls, and some of the meetings lasted no more than 17 minutes.

Due to their negligence, according to Patrick, they created events that led to the killing of his children at the hands of Lindsay.

The hearing for the case, meanwhile, is set to take place on Oct. 28, where it will rule whether Patrick’s wrongful death lawsuit has merit to proceed.
