Ashley St Clair says Elon Musk showed a different side of himself after she had their son

St Clair recalls Musk telling her that they should have a child together and that she should have as many as 10 kids

Ashley St. Clair has opened up about her relationship with Elon Musk, claiming the billionaire showed a different side of himself after she gave birth to their son, Romulus.

The former conservative influencer shares her account in Musk, a new documentary directed by Alex Gibney that examines the Tesla and SpaceX chief executive’s personal life, business empire and relationships. St. Clair describes how their relationship began and alleges that Musk’s behaviour changed after the arrival of their child.

“It was almost as if he didn’t show a certain side of himself until after I had our baby,” St. Clair says in the documentary.

St. Clair says she first connected with Musk through X in 2023, after he contacted her on the platform. Their relationship reportedly developed quickly, with conversations about having children together.

According to St. Clair, Musk frequently encouraged her to have a larger family. She recalls him telling her that they should have a child together and that she should have as many as 10 children.

She says he presented himself as a devoted father and gave her the impression that he maintained amicable relationships with the mothers of his other children. St. Clair eventually agreed to have a child with him, believing they shared similar expectations about family life.

However, she alleges that their relationship changed after Romulus was born in September 2024. The documentary details a subsequent dispute over financial support and an agreement that St. Clair says she refused to sign.

According to St. Clair, Musk’s representatives presented her with an agreement labelled as a child support contract that included a proposed payment of $15 million upfront and $100,000 per month for 20 years. She claims the arrangement also functioned as a non-disclosure agreement, which she ultimately declined to sign.

After St. Clair publicly revealed that she had welcomed a child with Musk in February 2025, his financial support allegedly decreased. The documentary claims her monthly payments were reduced from $100,000 to $40,000, and later to $20,000 after she spoke publicly about their relationship.

Musk’s representatives and his aide, Jared Birchall, did not respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment on the allegations, according to the publication.

St. Clair has also spoken about messages she says she received from other women who claimed Musk had contacted them about having children with him. She specifically references a woman in Japan who was reportedly interested in sperm donation.

The dispute has since developed into a legal battle over Romulus. St. Clair has sought full custody of their son, while Musk has indicated that he intends to contest the case in court.

Musk did not participate in Gibney’s documentary and has criticised the project as a biased “hit piece”. His lawyer has also threatened legal action over what he described as factual inaccuracies.

The documentary offers St. Clair a platform to recount her experience, but her claims about Musk’s conduct and the financial arrangements remain allegations. The ongoing custody dispute adds another dimension to the public scrutiny surrounding their relationship.
