Who is Alexis Wilkins? Country singer gets engaged to FBI director Kash Patel

The two met at a Nashville gathering hosted by mutual friends in 2022 and began dating officially in 2023

Alexis Wilkins, the country singer and political commentator, is engaged to FBI Director Kash Patel after several years together.

Wilkins announced the engagement on X on Sunday, October 4, sharing a photograph of her ring with the caption, “went and got the law involved” alongside a diamond ring and heart emojis. Patel later reshared the post.

Wilkins, 27, was born in Boston in 1998. Her family spent part of her childhood in England and Switzerland before settling in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She attended College du Leman in Switzerland before graduating from Belmont University in Nashville in 2020, according to Vanity Fair.

She began writing songs at nine and travelled to Nashville for music-related trips from the age of 14. Wilkins also had minor acting roles, including appearances on Modern Family and the Adam Sandler film Jack and Jill.

Wilkins pursued a country music career in Nashville and released her debut EP, Grit, in April 2023.

Her music includes political themes, with songs such as “Stand” and “Country Back” addressing American culture and political issues.

She has also performed the US national anthem at conservative political events, including gatherings linked to the NRA and Turning Point USA.

Wilkins has worked as a political commentator and consultant for The American Border Story since May 2025 and has served as an NRA board member since June 2025, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Wilkins has said she met Patel at a Nashville gathering hosted by mutual friends in 2022. They began dating officially in 2023, and she was present when Patel was sworn in as FBI director in February 2025.

Patel has described Wilkins as his “partner in life”.
