Elizabeth Smart gave hope to the Guthrie family.
According to Radar Online, the author and advocate Elizabeth Smart is still hopeful that Today anchor’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, can be found alive, although it has been six months since she disappeared.
“She could absolutely still be alive,” she optimistically remarked.
Expressing her emotions over Nancy’s continued disappearance, Elizabeth said it made her feel “heartbroken.”
Keeping hopes alive, she further emphasized that investigators may have greater knowledge than the public, saying, “I would remind people that we don’t know all the details.”
“I certainly hope that the investigators have more details than we do, and I certainly hope that they’re making more progress,” Elizabeth further added.
Furthermore, reflecting on this difficult time, the advocate urged the public to show “compassion and grace for the entire Guthrie family.”
Adding, “If anyone knows anything or [has] seen anything or the smallest detail that might seem insignificant [but] can make all the difference, just report it.”
It is pertinent to mention that Elizabeth Smart is a child safety and missing persons advocate, work she started when she was abducted on June 5, 2002, at the age of 14; however, she was later rescued after nine months of being missing.
