Kate Garraway’s new man has brought a smile back to the broadcaster’s face two years following the death of her husband, Derek Draper.
On Monday, an insider spilled to Closer magazine that the 58-year-old TV presenter’s budding romance with fellow broadcaster Liam Halligan is getting serious.
As per the confidant, Kate is “very happy” with Liam.
“Liam is charming, funny and intelligent,” the source said, “He and Kate have been enjoying some lovely dates for a while, which has been just the tonic she needs after what she’s been through. They go back a long way and have so much in common. “
“Kate seems really happy and her friends really like him,” added a tipster.
Meanwhile, another source told the outlet that Kate’s friends “are thrilled to see Kate making time for herself after putting everyone else first for so long. She feels like a teenager again. Her kids are still her priority, but she’s carving out time now for her and Liam.”
“Friends are saying Kate so deserves this new fairy-tale romance, Liam clearly adores her and they are having lots of fun together,” added the insider.
For those unversed, Kate and Liam first sparked romance rumors when the two were spotted getting cozy at a pub in Essex.
Last week, an insider told the outlet that it was “lovely to see Kate smiling again.” Kate and Liam have known each other for 20 years.
GMB presenter lost her husband of 19 years, Derek, in March 2020. The former political lobbyist died due to COVID-19.
Kate is a mother to Darcey, 20, and William, 16.
