Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is asking Tehran and Washington “to find a way through” after peace talks in Islamabad ended in disagreement.

In the early hours of Sunday, April 12, Iran and US negotiations to end war in the Middle East concluded inconclusively after 21 hours of continuous sessions in Pakistan, resulting in the departure of the US delegation led by the Vice President JD Vance, as Iran did not take a step back from building a nuclear weapon.

Analysing the peace talks with the Sultan of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik al Said, he pushed both countries to find a solution and convert a two-week truce in the Middle East into a permanent de-escalation.

The Downing Street spokeswoman shared, “They discussed the peace talks held in Pakistan over the weekend and urged both sides to find a way through.

“It was vital there was a continuation of the ceasefire, and that all parties avoided any further escalation, the leaders agreed,” the statement concluded.
